Inspection Services
Meet Rob, our WETT certified solid fuel space heating technician since 2013. Rob specializes in inspecting solid fuel burning systems and provides a comprehensive written report outlining compliance with manufacturer installation instructions and relevant codes. Inspections can be conducted at three levels: visual, technical, or invasive, with visual being the standard unless a higher level is warranted. Before starting, Rob will discuss the inspection details with you to ensure clarity and understanding.
What is a WETT Inspection™?
A WETT inspection™ is the inspection of a solid-fuel-burning system, performed by a WETT-certified professional, for compliance with applicable codes and standards.WETT (Wood Energy Technology Transfer) is recognized nationally as the self-regulating education body solely responsible for the standards-based education and certification of individuals. There is no national government agency that requires a solid-fuel-burning system to be installed, constructed, serviced or inspected by a WETT-certified professional. A WETT Inspection™ is, however, a requirement that is being mandated by the insurance industry. The definition, therefore, should be communicated to all stakeholders to avoid the use of non-inspection terminology.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a WETT inspection™ or WETT certificate?
We frequently receive requests for a “WETT certificate,” a “WETT certification,” a “WETT approval” or asked if it’s a “WETT-certified installation.” We also receive requests for companies that are “WETT certified.” WETT does not certify appliances or installations; our mandate is training and education. WETT certifies individuals, not companies. Appliances are certified by test laboratories.
Your WETT-certified inspector should provide you with a written inspection report (not a WETT certificate). Their WETT certification number should be included on the report. Visit info@WETT.ca for more information : https://www.wettinc.ca/faq
